The words people mix up
Similar names, different components. Open one to see it highlighted on the model and explore its related services.
- StemShow this component Clamps the bars to the fork. If the bars turn but the wheel does not, this is loose.
- Bottom bracketShow this component The bearing the crank axle turns in. It is hidden, so it often gets found only once it starts creaking.
- CassetteShow this component The stack of sprockets on the back wheel. Smaller sprocket, harder and faster; larger sprocket, easier climbing.
- EdgesShow this component The metal rails that hold on hard snow. The angle decides how sharply they bite — blunter forgives more, sharper holds on ice.
